Take a Moment…and Breathe.
It’s so easy to go about life constantly on the go, not staying in one place at any given time, and finding things to preoccupy our time because there’s always something to get done. For a woman it’s almost second nature, especially with all that requires our attention. At some times you may even feel like you have to squeeze in time to just deal with yourself. Although it may seem like you’re successfully working through what you’re feeling by redirecting it somewhere else, can you honestly say its been effective for you?
The minute conflict arises in your life, the first thing you may find yourself doing is finding the next best thing that will alleviate the inner stress you’re feeling. The only problem is, when you finally take the time to rest, all of the things you avoided confrontation with hits you all at one time like an 18-wheeler, making it hard for you to truly wind down the way you need to.
How Aware Are You?
Because you’re so wound up, you find yourself more exhausted than ever. Depleted and completely out of it. And I’m sure you know and feel the exhaustion across the board; affecting your mind, body and spirit. The lines between focus and concentration have become increasingly blurred and the thought of re-centering yourself is a foreign concept. Over time, you notice that certain health ailments have popped up that weren’t originally there. The discomfort in your body has become so chronic that you’ve now welcomed it as a regular part in your life. You may even have some extra stubborn weight that refuses to go away, no matter what you do.
What If I Told You That This Is All Connected?
You are constantly giving of yourself, sacrificing yourself and putting yourself on the back burner for the sake of your children, family and friends. I’m here to tell you that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! However, I am also here to tell you that the one person who needs your undivided attention the most at this time is you. It’s time for you to get back to yourself in a way that will allow you to flow through life in overflow.
Yes, there is a way to nourish your mind body and spirit in such a way that you can apply it to every aspect of your life, for the rest of your life. The best part about it? You can start right where you are, right now!
Isn’t It Time You Saved A Little Something-Something For Yourself?
As you are reading this, you may be thinking, “Well isn’t that selfish of me?” or maybe more along the lines of “I just don’t have the time like I used to.” Contrary to popular belief, self-care should be your number one priority. Why? Because incorporating ways to pour into yourself on a regular basis will allow you to become a better mom, wife, friend, sister and daughter in ways you never imagined. And don’t we all wish to give and serve without ever running out?
